The Northmont Thunderbolts spoiled Beavercreek’s Homecoming game Friday night, shutting out the Beavers 25-0.  The first half was largely a defensive battle, as both offenses struggled to move the ball.  Northmont finally broke through with just over 2:00 minutes left in the first half when they scored on a 5-yard touchdown pass and then converted the two-point attempt to take an 8-0 lead.  That’s all the scoring the Thunderbolts would need as the Beavers never threatened to score in the game.  Northmont, a team that struggled to stop the run early in the season, came prepared to stuff the middle and take away the Beavers’ strength.  The Thunderbolts held the Beavers to only 108 rushing yards on 50 attempts, with senior Allen Lawrence leading the way with 61 yards on the ground.  The Beavers’ defense was again stingy, stopping the Thunderbolts several times within the red zone and coming up big on a fourth and goal inside the 5-yard line.  RJ Cowans led the defense with 9 tackles on the night.  The Beavers stand at 3-3 and will next face Wayne at home next Friday at 7:00 pm.  Go Beavers!
