Beavercreek played its first home game of the season on Friday night, defeating the Fairborn Skyhawks 35-23.  It was all Beavercreek early, as the Beavers scored on their first two possessions with Tim Bradshaw scampering 41 yards for the first score and Hunter Maloney hitting Justin Terrell on a 20-yard touchdown pass to take an early 14-0 lead.  Fairborn got on the board late in the first quarter after Beavercreek blocked a Fairborn punt and a Fairborn player picked it up and ran for a first down, keeping the Skyhawk drive alive.  Several plays later, Fairborn scored on a 52-yard touchdown pass and the score was 14-7.  The Beavers would then score twice in the 2nd quarter and on their opening drive of the third quarter to take a commanding 35-7 lead.  But it was all Skyhawks after that, as they added two scores and both two-point conversions to cut the lead to 35-23.  They would get no closer as Beavercreek was able to control the clock and stop the Skyhawks’ rally.

The Beavers were led by running back Tim Bradshaw, who gained 194 yards on 32 carries and scored twice.  The Beavers rushed for 382 yards on the night and Maloney threw two touchdown passes, both to Terrell, to finish with 59 yards in the air.  Terrell, a junior wing, rushed for 56 yards and caught two passes for 52 yards and two scores.  Maloney rushed for 67 yards and Stone Kincer chipped in with 47 yards for the Beavers.  On defense, the Beavers were again tough against the run, allowing the Skyhawks just 47 yards on 24 carries, with Alex Bush leading the Beavers with 8 tackles and Caleb Boone adding 7 tackles. Fairborn was able to strike through the air, scoring on touchdown passes from 52 and 81 yards away, and setting up another score with a long pass.

Beavercreek moves to 3-0 on the season for the first time since 2009.  The Beavers will be at home again next week against Springboro (2-1).  Kickoff is at 7:00 PM.  Go Beavers!
