The Beavers concluded their regular season schedule Friday night hosting Fairmont for Senior Night, honoring 21 senior players.  The Firebirds struck first as Maurice Adika raced 50 yards for the score to put Fairmont up 7-0 early.  Following a safety, the Firebirds held a 9-0 lead with the ball, but Beavercreek got a stop and Stone Kincer got the Beavers on the board with a 52-yard run to cut the lead to 9-7.  But Fairmont quickly answered.  Following a fake punt to give the Firebirds a first down, Adika scored again, this time from 24 yards away, to give Fairmont a 15-7 lead.  Just before half, Beavercreek put together a scoring dive topped off by a Hunter Maloney QB sneak to pull within one at half, 15-14.

The second half was all Beavercreek as the Beavers scored the next 48 points while shutting out the Firebirds, 62-15.  Senior Jarrett Thomas scored four touchdowns, including a 61-yard run and a 37-yard pass reception, all in the second half.  Stone Kincer added another score and Tim Bradshaw tacked on a 52-yard score as the Beavers offense racked up 464 yards against the Firebird defense.  In addition to the offensive explosion, the defense was dominant as well, with Julian Linkhart making a spectacular interception and returning it 46 yards for the score.  Linkhart set up another score with a punt return to give the Beavers a first and goal at the three.  The 62 points scored by the Beavers was the most since Beavercreek’s 63-0 shut out of Carroll in 2012 and the most points the Beavers have ever scored against a GWOC opponent.  The Beavers end the regular season at 7-3 and narrowly missed making the playoffs.  We would like to thank the players, coaches, and all those who worked so hard to make this a great season — GO BEAVERS!
