It’s Homecoming Week at Beavercreek as the Beavers get set to host the Springfield Wildcats on Friday at 7:00 PM.  The Beavers will be looking to break a two-game skid following a heart-breaking loss to Springboro and a blowout last week at the hands of Wayne.  The Wildcats come into the game riding a two-game winning streak with wins over Xenia and Northmont.  Beavercreek has won five-straight over Springfield, including last year’s 31-28 game that was decided on a last-second field goal.  Springfield is dangerous offensively with one of the GWOC’s most talented all-around players in Danny Davis.  Last year, Davis torched the Beavers for 335 all purpose yards and all four of Springfield’s touchdowns.  This year, the Beavers must find a way to contain Davis and not allow the big play.  The key will be controlling the ball, and the clock.  If Beavercreek can establish the run and control the time of possession, they can keep Davis and the Wildcats off the field.  Last week, Creek was unable to run the ball against Wayne, but will have to get back on track against the Wildcats.  On defense, the Beavers will need to keep an eye on Davis no matter where he lines up — whether in the backfield or the slot, he is a threat on every down.  Davis has already rushed for over 1,000 yards on the season, and has accounted for nine touchdowns.  He is also dangerous on special teams, last year returning a punt 70 yards for a score. If they can contain Davis, the Beavers have a good shot at getting back on a winning track and continuing the dominant streak against Springfield.  Go Beavers!
