Beavercreek looking to finish strong
October 7, 2009 - Eric Frantz, Miami Valley Sports Magazine

If the Creek is to rise past its final four opponents, senior running back Gabe Henry will play a large part.

A 5-9, 180 pound wrecking ball with flare, Henry currently leads the rugged GWOC Central in rushing by nearly 200 yards. To date Henry has carried the ball 131 times for 863 yards and nine TDs. Centerville’s Zak Bertram is second in the GWOC Central with 671 yards.

Henry rushed for 213 yards in a win over Xenia and torched Sidney for 197. He’s been held under 100 yards just once this year.

As for Creek, they are just six points away from being 6-0, having dropped a 13-10 decision to Fairborn in overtime and a 10-7 decision to Kettering Fairmont.

The Beavers travel to Centerville Friday before closing with Wayne, Springfield and Northmont.
